What to Expect After Opting Out
- Allow 8 to 12 weeks. SoFi also says you may still get 1 or 2 more mailings after you send the form. Mail already printed can still arrive.
- Account mail is separate. Stopping promotional postal mail does not stop statements, servicing notices, or other account mail if you have a SoFi product.
- Prescreened credit and insurance offers also opt out through OptOutPrescreen, the federal bureau opt-out. That path is not the same as SoFi’s own marketing list.
Why Do You Receive SoFi Mail?
SoFi (Social Finance) started in August 2011, when Stanford business school students built an alumni-funded lending model. They then became a student-loan refinancer and later a broader bank.
You get promotional postal mail for loans, banking, and other SoFi products if you applied, joined, or landed on a list they mail.

DMAchoice is the Association of National Advertisers' mail preference service. An $8 registration asks about 1,100 participating national companies to suppress your address from prospect promotional mail for 10 years. It does not cover local mailers, charity appeals, companies you already buy from, or occupant / current-resident saturation mail. Allow 90 days or longer.

Your Data Privacy Rights (CCPA & Beyond)
A promotional opt-out stops SoFi marketing mail. It does not always stop the underlying address from being shared. If you live in a state with an active consumer privacy law (California’s CCPA and several others), you can request access to or deletion of your personal information, and you can opt out of sale, share, or targeted advertising.
Go to SoFi’s opt-out page and ask for a deletion or do-not-share request as well as a marketing-mail opt-out. SoFi also names that page as the postal-mail path.

How do I stop SoFi mail for a previous resident?
