What to Expect After Opting Out
- Allow 8 to 12 weeks. Print runs are scheduled in advance. An offer already labeled can still arrive.
- Account mail is separate. Stopping promotional mail does not stop statements or notices on a loan you already hold.
- Prescreened credit and insurance offers also opt out through OptOutPrescreen, the federal bureau opt-out. That path is not the same as Payoff’s own marketing list. A later application can put the address back on.
Why Do You Receive Payoff Mail?
Payoff is the loan brand on payoff.com for Happy Money, a Torrance consumer-finance shop. Happy Money funds simple, transparent personal loans through trusted banks and credit unions. Loans run $5,000 to $50,000, and the pitch is one fixed payment to pay off credit cards. Matt Potere is CEO. The company page lists more than 350,000 customers and more than $7 billion funded since the start. All loans are issued by Lending Partners, not by the website alone. The leftover mail is a loan offer, not a statement on a loan you already have.
You get that mail if you checked a rate, applied, held a Payoff loan, or landed on a list they use. A later application can put the address back on.

DMAchoice is the Association of National Advertisers' mail preference service. An $8 registration asks about 1,100 participating national companies to suppress your address from prospect promotional mail for 10 years. It does not cover local mailers, charity appeals, companies you already buy from, or occupant / current-resident saturation mail. Allow 90 days or longer.

A promotional opt-out stops Payoff marketing mail. It does not always stop the underlying address from being shared. How do I stop Payoff mail for a previous resident?

Will Payoff mail stop if I move?
