Current opt-out methods for Fidelity Investments mail
-
PaperKarma app
Photograph the Fidelity Investments mailer. PaperKarma files the opt-out for you.
Once you opt out of this sender, you can opt out of 100,000+ other mailers in the same app.
-
Phone
Call Fidelity Investments at +1-800-343-3548. Ask them to stop sending you promotional mail.
A phone request can take 5 to 10 minutes or longer, depending on the phone tree, hold time, and whether they offer a callback.
What to Expect After Opting Out
- Allow 8 to 12 weeks. Print runs are scheduled in advance. Mail already printed can still arrive.
- Statements are separate. Stopping promotional offers does not stop statements, confirms, or other account mail if you have an account.
- Prescreened credit and insurance offers also opt out through OptOutPrescreen, the federal bureau opt-out. That path is not the same as Fidelity Investments’s own marketing list.
Why Do You Receive Fidelity Investments Mail?
Fidelity Investments is the privately held fund and brokerage house Edward Johnson 2d started in 1946. He founded Fidelity Management & Research that year as the sole adviser to Fidelity Fund, after taking the fund over three years earlier. Headquarters is in Boston. Their privacy policy says they share personal information for their own marketing, and that you cannot limit that sharing.
You get promotional offers about funds, brokerage, and retirement products if you are a customer or landed on a list they mail. You opened a 401(k) rollover, and the product packets kept coming. This opt-out does not stop statements or other account mail.
How to Prevent General Junk Mail Proactively
-
DMAchoice
DMAchoice is the Association of National Advertisers' mail preference service. An $8 registration asks about 1,100 participating national companies to suppress your address from prospect promotional mail for 10 years. It does not cover local mailers, charity appeals, companies you already buy from, or occupant / current-resident saturation mail. Allow 90 days or longer.
-
OptOutPrescreen
OptOutPrescreen is the official Consumer Credit Reporting Industry site. It lets you opt out of firm offers of credit and insurance for 5 years or permanently.
-
PaperKarma
For local and regional mailers, coupon packs, charity donation requests, and the large share of junk mail that DMAchoice does not cover, the PaperKarma app has the largest U.S. registry, with over 100,000 mailers on file.
Your Data Privacy Rights (CCPA & Beyond)
A promotional opt-out stops Fidelity Investments marketing mail. It does not always stop the underlying address from being shared. If you live in a state with an active consumer privacy law (California’s CCPA and several others), you can request access to or deletion of your personal information, and you can opt out of sale, share, or targeted advertising.
Call +1-800-343-3548 and ask for a deletion or do-not-share request, and to opt out of promotional mail. Their privacy policy lists that same number for questions.
Frequently asked questions
How long until Fidelity Investments mail stops?
Allow 8 to 12 weeks. Print runs are scheduled in advance. Account mail can still arrive if you have an account.
How do I stop Fidelity Investments mail for a previous resident?
Call Fidelity Investments at +1-800-343-3548 and ask them to remove that name from this address, or use the PaperKarma app to scan the mailer, mark the recipient as a previous resident, and submit the opt-out. Do not mark the person as deceased unless they are deceased.
Will Fidelity Investments mail stop if I move?
Not automatically. Marketing lists are tied to a specific name and address. Call again for the new address, or use the PaperKarma app there.
