-
Phone
Call Farmers Insurance at +1-800-327-6377. Ask them to stop sending you promotional mail.
A phone request can take 5 to 10 minutes or longer, depending on the phone tree, hold time, and whether they offer a callback.
What to Expect After Opting Out
- Allow 8 to 12 weeks. Print runs are scheduled in advance. Mail already printed can still arrive.
- Policy mail is separate. Stopping promotional offers does not stop bills, claims, or other policy mail if you have coverage.
- Prescreened credit and insurance offers also opt out through OptOutPrescreen, the federal bureau opt-out. That path is not the same as Farmers Insurance’s own marketing list.
Why Do You Receive Farmers Insurance Mail?
Farmers Insurance is the 1928 auto, home, and life house. John C. “Jack” Tyler and Thomas E. Leavey founded it on March 28, 1928, in a small Los Angeles office. They put up their own money and went farm to farm for the first policies, then opened in a one-room downtown office a year before the Depression. Farmers Group, Inc. manages the Farmers Exchanges and is wholly owned by Zurich Insurance Group. They collect from marketing companies and data providers, and they send marketing communications.
You get policyholder ads and prospect offers if you have a policy or landed on a list they mail. You insured the farm or the car, and the packets kept coming. This opt-out does not stop bills, claims, or other policy mail.
How to Prevent General Junk Mail Proactively
-
DMAchoice
DMAchoice is the Association of National Advertisers' mail preference service. An $8 registration asks about 1,100 participating national companies to suppress your address from prospect promotional mail for 10 years. It does not cover local mailers, charity appeals, companies you already buy from, or occupant / current-resident saturation mail. Allow 90 days or longer.
-
OptOutPrescreen
OptOutPrescreen is the official Consumer Credit Reporting Industry site. It lets you opt out of firm offers of credit and insurance for 5 years or permanently.
-
PaperKarma
For local and regional mailers, coupon packs, charity donation requests, and the large share of junk mail that DMAchoice does not cover, the PaperKarma app has the largest U.S. registry, with over 100,000 mailers on file.
Your Data Privacy Rights (CCPA & Beyond)
A promotional opt-out stops Farmers Insurance marketing mail. It does not always stop the underlying address from being shared. If you live in a state with an active consumer privacy law (California’s CCPA and several others), you can request access to or deletion of your personal information, and you can opt out of sale, share, or targeted advertising.
Call +1-800-327-6377 and ask for a deletion or do-not-share request, and to opt out of promotional mail.
Frequently asked questions
How long until Farmers Insurance mail stops?
Allow 8 to 12 weeks. Print runs are scheduled in advance. Policy mail can still arrive if you have coverage.
How do I stop Farmers Insurance mail for a previous resident?
Call Farmers Insurance at +1-800-327-6377 and ask them to remove that name from this address, or use the PaperKarma app to scan the mailer, mark the recipient as a previous resident, and submit the opt-out. Do not mark the person as deceased unless they are deceased.
Will Farmers Insurance mail stop if I move?
Not automatically. Marketing lists are tied to a specific name and address. Call again for the new address, or use the PaperKarma app there.
