Current opt-out methods for Indeed mail

  1. Email request

Use the Email option on this page and ask Indeed to stop promotional postal mail. Include the full name and mailing address you want removed. Copy the template below, fill the bracketed fields, and attach a photo of the mailer if you have one.

If sending your opt-out request by email, use this helpful template for Indeed:

    Hello,

I'm writing to request that Indeed permanently remove my address from all direct mail lists, including your internal house list and any rented or third-party lists used to source your mailings.

The name and address to remove as they appear on a recently delivered unwanted mailer:

    [NAME]
    [ADDRESS]
    [CITY ST ZIP]

A few notes for your direct mail team:

    • I have never subscribed to marketing communications from Indeed.
    • This address is registered with the National Do Not Mail list (DMAchoice), so standard list hygiene should already be suppressing it.
    • Since I haven't opted in with you directly, the source is most likely a rented or co-op list. Please also flag this address with your list partners so it's suppressed at the source.

Please confirm in writing once the suppression is complete. I've attached an image of the mailer for reference.

    Thank you,
    [NAME]

Replace the bracketed fields ([NAME], [ADDRESS], [CITY ST ZIP]) before sending. Attach a photo of the mailer if you have one, and keep the reply for your records.

  2. PaperKarma app

Photograph the Indeed mailer. PaperKarma files the opt-out for you.

Once you opt out of this sender, you can opt out of 100,000+ other mailers in the same app.

  3. Phone

Call Indeed at +1-800-952-5210. Ask them to stop sending you promotional postal mail. Give the exact name and address on the mailer.

A phone request can take 5 to 10 minutes or longer, depending on the phone tree, hold time, and whether they offer a callback.

What to Expect After Opting Out

  • Allow 8 to 12 weeks. Print runs are scheduled in advance. Mail already printed can still arrive.
  • Account and application mail is separate. Stopping promotional mail does not close a job-seeker or employer account, and it does not stop application notices or employer billing if you still use Indeed.
  • Other Recruit brands keep their own lists. Opting out here does not stop every Recruit name.

Why Do You Receive Indeed Mail?

Indeed is a job site. They call it the world’s number-one job site (Comscore total visits, March 2026) and a Recruit Holdings subsidiary, with work in more than 60 countries. They buy resumes and other profile data from third parties, then store and use that data to send marketing where the law allows, so they can reach people who do not already use Indeed. That is a prospect list, not a catalog club.

You get that mail if you used Indeed as a job seeker or employer, or if they bought a resume or profile for marketing. The leftover packet is often a hiring offer for an address that never opened an account.

How to Prevent General Junk Mail Proactively

  1. DMAchoice

DMAchoice is the Association of National Advertisers' mail preference service. An $8 registration asks about 1,100 participating national companies to suppress your address from prospect promotional mail for 10 years. It does not cover local mailers, charity appeals, companies you already buy from, or occupant / current-resident saturation mail. Allow 90 days or longer.

  2. OptOutPrescreen

OptOutPrescreen is the official Consumer Credit Reporting Industry site. It lets you opt out of firm offers of credit and insurance for 5 years or permanently.

NOTE: OptOutPrescreen will not opt you out of Indeed mail. It only covers prescreened credit card and insurance offers.

  3. PaperKarma

For local and regional mailers, coupon packs, charity donation requests, and the large share of junk mail that DMAchoice does not cover, the PaperKarma app has the largest U.S. registry, with over 100,000 mailers on file.

Your Data Privacy Rights (CCPA & Beyond)

A promotional opt-out stops Indeed marketing mail. It does not always stop the underlying address from being shared. If you live in a state with an active consumer privacy law (California’s CCPA and several others), you can request access to or deletion of your personal information, and you can opt out of sale, share, or targeted advertising.

Call +1-800-952-5210 and ask for a deletion or do-not-share request, and to opt out of promotional mail.

Frequently asked questions

How long until Indeed mail stops?

Allow 8 to 12 weeks. Print runs are scheduled in advance. If a promotional packet arrives during that window, it was likely already printed and labeled before your request was processed. Account and application mail can still arrive if you still use Indeed.

How do I stop Indeed mail for a previous resident?

Use the Email option on this page and include that person’s name and this address, or call +1-800-952-5210, or use the PaperKarma app to scan the mailer, mark the recipient as a previous resident, and submit the opt-out. Do not mark the person as deceased unless they are deceased.

Will Indeed mail stop if I move?

Not automatically. Marketing lists are tied to a specific name and address. A USPS forward can send a few more packets to the new address. Send a new email (or call) for the new address, or use the PaperKarma app there.
