Current opt-out methods for Country Store mail
-
Mail preference form
Go to Country Store’s Contact Us page. Choose Remove from Catalog Mailing List. Put the full name and street address as printed on the catalog.
-
PaperKarma app
Photograph the Country Store catalog. PaperKarma files the opt-out for you.
Once you opt out of this sender, you can opt out of 100,000+ other mailers in the same app.
-
Phone
Call Country Store at +1-877-301-3540. Ask them to stop catalogs for the name and address on the mailer.
A phone request can take 5 to 10 minutes or longer, depending on the phone tree, hold time, and whether they offer a callback.
What to Expect After Opting Out
- Allow 8 to 12 weeks. Print runs are scheduled in advance. A catalog already labeled can still arrive.
- Orders are separate. Stopping catalogs does not stop a shipment or return on an order you already placed.
- A later list add-back can start it again. A later order or free-catalog request can put the address back on a catalog file.
Why Do You Receive Country Store Mail?
Country Store is a Potpourri Group catalog that calls itself an online general store. It opened in 1971. PGI, based in North Billerica, Massachusetts, grew from a single 1963 catalog into a multi-title direct marketer. Country Store sells casual clothing, embroidered tees, sleepwear, jewelry, home décor, and gifts, plus seasonal drops and Aunt Clara’s contest. Orders ship from a Chelmsford, Massachusetts box. They may share name, postal address, and purchase information with other companies. The leftover mail is a catalog, not an order you already placed.
You get that mail if you ordered, asked for a free catalog, or landed on a list they mail. A later order can put the address back on a catalog file.
How to Prevent General Junk Mail Proactively
-
DMAchoice
DMAchoice is the Association of National Advertisers' mail preference service. An $8 registration asks about 1,100 participating national companies to suppress your address from prospect promotional mail for 10 years. It does not cover local mailers, charity appeals, companies you already buy from, or occupant / current-resident saturation mail. Allow 90 days or longer.
NOTE: DMAchoice will not stop mail from Country Store as it is not an active member of the ANA.
-
OptOutPrescreen
OptOutPrescreen is the official Consumer Credit Reporting Industry site. It lets you opt out of firm offers of credit and insurance for 5 years or permanently.
NOTE: OptOutPrescreen will not opt you out of Country Store mail. It only covers prescreened credit card and insurance offers.
-
PaperKarma
For local and regional mailers, coupon packs, charity donation requests, and the large share of junk mail that DMAchoice does not cover, the PaperKarma app has the largest U.S. registry, with over 100,000 mailers on file.
Your Data Privacy Rights (CCPA & Beyond)
A promotional opt-out stops Country Store marketing mail. It does not always stop the underlying address from being shared. If you live in a state with an active consumer privacy law (California’s CCPA and several others), you can request access to or deletion of your personal information, and you can opt out of sale, share, or targeted advertising.
Go to the Contact Us page, choose Do Not Share or Sell My Information or CA Residents – Manage Privacy Rights, or call +1-877-301-3540, and ask for a deletion or do-not-share request, and to opt out of catalogs.
Frequently asked questions
How long until Country Store mail stops?
Allow 8 to 12 weeks. Print runs are scheduled in advance. If a catalog arrives during that window, it was likely already printed and labeled before your request was processed.
How do I stop Country Store mail for a previous resident?
Call Country Store at +1-877-301-3540 and include that person’s name and this address, or use the PaperKarma app to scan the mailer, mark the recipient as a previous resident, and submit the opt-out. Do not mark the person as deceased unless they are deceased.
Will Country Store mail stop if I move?
Not automatically. Marketing lists are tied to a specific name and address. A USPS forward can send a few more packets to the new address. Call again for the new address, or use the PaperKarma app there.
