Current opt-out methods for Concerned Women for America mail

  1. PaperKarma app

Photograph the Concerned Women for America appeal. PaperKarma files the opt-out for you.

Once you opt out of this sender, you can opt out of 100,000+ other mailers in the same app.

  2. Phone

Call Concerned Women for America at +1-202-488-7000. Ask them to stop fundraising mail for the name and address on the mailer.

A phone request can take 5 to 10 minutes or longer, depending on the phone tree, hold time, and whether they offer a callback.

What to Expect After Opting Out

  • Allow 8 to 12 weeks. Print runs are scheduled in advance. An appeal already labeled can still arrive.
  • Receipts are separate. Stopping fundraising mail does not stop a donor receipt if you gave.
  • A later list add-back can start it again. A later gift or petition can put the address back on a file.

Why Do You Receive Concerned Women for America Mail?

Concerned Women for America is a conservative public-policy group that says it is the nation’s largest public policy women’s organization. Beverly LaHaye founded it in 1979 in San Diego after watching Barbara Walters interview Betty Friedan, and she wanted a voice for women who did not share Friedan’s views. Headquarters moved to Washington, D.C. in 1985. LaHaye led CWA through the Reagan and Bush years, testified for Scalia, Bork, and Thomas, and stayed president until 2010. Penny Nance now leads. They work seven issues: family, life, religious liberty, education, sexual exploitation, national sovereignty, and Israel. The leftover mail is a fundraising appeal.

You get that mail if you donated, signed a petition, or landed on a list they mail. They say they do not share or sell donor information or send donor mailings for other groups.

How to Prevent General Junk Mail Proactively

  1. DMAchoice

DMAchoice is the Association of National Advertisers' mail preference service. An $8 registration asks about 1,100 participating national companies to suppress your address from prospect promotional mail for 10 years. It does not cover local mailers, charity appeals, companies you already buy from, or occupant / current-resident saturation mail. Allow 90 days or longer.

NOTE: DMAchoice will not stop mail from Concerned Women for America as it is not an active member of the ANA.

  2. OptOutPrescreen

OptOutPrescreen is the official Consumer Credit Reporting Industry site. It lets you opt out of firm offers of credit and insurance for 5 years or permanently.

NOTE: OptOutPrescreen will not opt you out of Concerned Women for America mail. It only covers prescreened credit card and insurance offers.

  3. PaperKarma

For local and regional mailers, coupon packs, charity donation requests, and the large share of junk mail that DMAchoice does not cover, the PaperKarma app has the largest U.S. registry, with over 100,000 mailers on file.

Your Data Privacy Rights (CCPA & Beyond)

A promotional opt-out stops Concerned Women for America marketing mail. It does not always stop the underlying address from being shared. If you live in a state with an active consumer privacy law (California’s CCPA and several others), you can request access to or deletion of your personal information, and you can opt out of sale, share, or targeted advertising.

Go to the Privacy & Security Policy page, or call +1-202-488-7000, and ask for a deletion or do-not-share request, and to opt out of fundraising mail.

Frequently asked questions

How long until Concerned Women for America mail stops?

Allow 8 to 12 weeks. Print runs are scheduled in advance. If an appeal arrives during that window, it was likely already printed and labeled before your request was processed. Donor receipts can still arrive if you gave.

How do I stop Concerned Women for America mail for a previous resident?

Call Concerned Women for America at +1-202-488-7000 and include that person’s name and this address, or use the PaperKarma app to scan the mailer, mark the recipient as a previous resident, and submit the opt-out. Do not mark the person as deceased unless they are deceased.

Will Concerned Women for America mail stop if I move?

Not automatically. Marketing lists are tied to a specific name and address. A USPS forward can send a few more packets to the new address. Call again for the new address, or use the PaperKarma app there.
